Retreat from crowded Kuta area and enjoy some fresh air by visiting the central highlands of Bali. The main destination point in this tour is Ulun Danu Bratan Temple in Bedugul, along with other temples.
This is the royal temple of Mengwi Kingdom (Mengwi sub-district of north Badung in today’s era), located strategically in Trans-Bali roadway. It has large courtyard rife with aged Balinese architecture, and surrounded by big fishpond.
Bedugul is a countryside lake resort area where you can enjoy mild mountain temperature and beautiful panorama of Lake Bratan. You might as well want to visit Bali Botanic Garden – dubbed as the largest botanic garden in Indonesia – which covers a total area of 389 acres before continuing the journey to the temple.
Built in 1633, this temple is used for offerings ceremony to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu, due to the importance of Lake Bratan as a main source of irrigation in central Bali. As a water temple, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan presents stunning hill and lakeside scenery. Additionally, you may rent an outrigger, paddle or motor boat to roll around the lake.
Finish up by overlooking sunset towards Indian Ocean at Tanah Lot Temple, one of the most highly regarded Balinese sea temple which is famous for being a cultural icon for photography for tourists.
